This book is a story about a someone who was happier than she ever had been in her life and then discovered she had ALS. This book is the first and last novel the author will ever write. Soon after he finished and turned it over to an editor he died from a massive heart attack. Interesting enough, he had never shown any interest in being a writer. He graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in engineering and spent most of his life as a Reconnaissance Systems Engineer with Lockheed/Grumman. Whether you believe in the afterlife or not, there is some very interesting irony involved with his writing of this book. For instance, after Angela's death he was very depressed and acted as if his life was over. Suddenly, he decided to do something he never imagined doing before and that was to write a book about his and Angela's life together. He spent many hours and days writing, editing and re-writing the book. The irony I mentioned was his sudden desire to do something he had never done before. As stated above, he and Angela were married for four years, it took him exactly fours years to write the book and was happier and more energetic while writing it. Once he had finished, his friends and neighbors noticed that his demeanor and attitude towards life had changed dramatically. It was as if his life on earth was over and Angela was telling him that it was time to come home. Very soon after he had finished the book, a man in good health with no excessive bad habits, dropped dead of a massive heart attack. Was this just irony, or was he receiving special guidance from above? We will never know.
