Elverson, triangular in shape, one square mile in size, and less than one thousand in population, would seem an unlikely place to be packed with so much history. Our community is set in the foothills of the Welsh Mountains in northwest Chester County. We were neighbors of Daniel Boone, and helped make cannon balls for the Revolutionary War. Our ancestors helped make Ben Franklin stoves. We have had our share of preachers, inventors, and scientists. Our town has been called by many names and had our share of colorful people. All of us can stand proud of an early history that played a small but important part in the migration of European Settlers. Those settlers, the Welsh, the Irish and the Germans, are our heritage. They kept the faith, carved out a village, and worked the mines and forges.
