Shy, Scholarly Simon Anderson has never stood as the center of any world other than his mother's. Now, however, Simon, his best friend Nick, and Nick's sister Unice are worlds apart from their family and faced with a world in devastation, and Simon finds himself leading his friends through the adventure of their lives.

After the devastation, the sky is left supercharged with energy causing a breakdown in worldwide power and communications. The survivors have gathered in pockets around the various cities of the Pacific Northwest. Soon there are reports of strange animal sightings ranging from giant wasps to Dragons, and to top it off the local military has taken over the town. Now Simon and the others must not only find help with the mysterious happenings, but also the more and more corrupt military force. The tide takes a great turn when simon finds a portal to other worlds, including one where there are people who appear to control Drangons. Now all they must do is convince a stranger from another world to help wrangle a Dragon lost in theirs, but also deal with the corrupt militarey leader that will do anything to make the Dragon his.
