Smile Like a Plastic Daisy

Smile Like a Plastic Daisy

Sonia Levitin
0/5 ( ratings)
Claudia Warner didn’t like to make waves.

Everyone always told Claudia how nice she was. She didn’t give her parents any trouble, she was your basic B plus student, and she even played a decent flute in her high school band. In fact, Claudia was used to coasting along—even if it meant not going on to Durant College, the school she’d wanted to go to with all her heart, because they only accepted “students of distinction.”

So Claudia was as shocked as everyone else when she did what she did at the swim meet. When the boys, on that hot day, took off their shirts, taunting Claudia with the fact that she couldn’t do the same—she did!

The town went crazy. Claudia had wanted to make a stand for women’s liberation, but all that her newfound beliefs meant right now were tension and controversy—at school, at home, and within herself. Suddenly Claudia was a part of a battle she never wanted to fight. And she had to decide what to do...fast.
