Musings from Yesteryear: A short story antholgoy

Musings from Yesteryear: A short story antholgoy

Sheenah Freitas
5/5 ( ratings)
When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be a writer. But as I grew up, that changed despite my love to write. As my junior year of high school was coming to a close, I had a change of heart with what I thought I wanted to with my life and it was then that my dad suggested I try to pursue writing. The stories in this collection were written during my teenage years. A lot of the work is "experimental" as I tried to figure what worked and what doesn't in terms of transitions and literary devices. I don't think this collection would've been possible if it weren't for my father or my creative writing teacher. The latter taught me that brevity can be better and just as enjoyable as a novel. The former taught me to believe in myself to just "just keep swimming."
