Loki's got layers ... and I'm still wondering about what, exactly, happened in his former life.Check out my recap—and join the discussion—at Forever Young Adult.
Loki o'clock! Augh, this is even more heart-breaking than the previous episode. And sort of open-ended, probably to come back into focus later on. Which I hope is soon.(And I'm reminded I've had E.C. Myers' Fair Coin on my TBR for years now, might be time to pick it up!)
Review also posted at: http://underthebookcover.blogspot.com...3.5/5Thank you to NetGalley and Serial Box for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for review!Episode four of ReMade opens with Loki, who is keeping watch over a base camp that is being watched by a tiger. Loki is a gamer who was not the most popular person in his previous life, but is now able to put his years of gaming to use creating strategies, gathering and creating weapons, and finding suitable places to set up ca...
So, in this installment we learned about Omri/Loki. This one tore at my heartstrings because of the story line, but it was still very worth the read. Some bad choices were made and we learned a bit about the world again. I loved that there was a bit of a review starting on this serial. That's really, really helpful. I would recommend this book. 4 out of 5 stars.
Read all my reviews on http://urlphantomhive.booklikes.com Another episode, another backstory... (This really seems to be the formula of the series). Episode four focuses on Loki (not his real name) and how he ended up in the complete mess everyone's in at the moment. At the same time, some dangerous predators are lurking in the shadows. It was an enjoyable read, but somewhere I was glad it was so short. The backstories sometimes really pulled me out of the story instead of providing more bondi
Book – ReMade – Season 1, Episode 4: The Most Dangerous GameAuthor – Matthew CodyStar rating - ★★★★★POV – 3rd person, 1 characterWould I read it again – YesGenre – Sci-Fi, Contemporary, Futuristic, Alien** COPY RECEIVED THROUGH NETGALLEY **Ugh! I swear, I just spent the last hour >< this close to tears. If there had been any more, I'd have been a sobbing wreck! At first, I was like - WooHoo! Loki's story. Finally! - then I read Loki's story and...I'm speechless. Not only is it a tragic, but bruta...
This is the fourth chapter in the serial ReMade. We continue to learn more about the main characters of this tale. However, the main story development does suffer somewhat. Here we discover the tale of Loki, a boy who is in the shadow of his older sister and his parents. His parents are military and his older sister had terrific grades and has gone on to a stellar career in the military. All his teachers compare him to his older sister and he has dropped out of JROTC because he can't seem to suc...
All of my reviews of ReMade are more plot based than my normal reviews, so they are all a little more spoilery than usual. I recommend checking out my review for the first episode before reading on! The Most Dangerous Game is not a video game…it is real life (spoiler-alert). Loki had a safe and happy gamer presence online. Only his best friend knew his handle…until one day he shared it on Instagram. Loki is continually bullied and pressured at home and at school, until he can’t handle it anymore...
I really enjoyed this part and I love how the story is developing and allowing us to get closer to the characters in the book. In this part of the series we learn more about Loki and his background and its actually a really tough subject that they have handled very well. Looking forward to more of the same as the story grows. Definitely a book running along the lines of Maze Runner.
"Sharply told in a fantastic new format, ReMade should be on your radar."- James Dashner, #1 NYT Bestselling Author of The Maze Runner seriesI’m not pretending to be a hero anymore, he thought. When teen gamer Loki woke up in the mysterious Dystopian world of the YA serial ReMade, he got a second chance at life—with a few strings attached. There are no parents, no video games and no modern conveniences. Instead, there are wild animals, robots and space elevators. And while Loki can aim a gun prett...
this one stressed me out, particularly the ending!!!
Loki is a gamer. Well, Loki was his gamer name. His real name is Omri. The real world is not very nice to Omri even more so after his best friend turned against him because of gay rumors between them. His ex best friend has now taken it upon himself to make Omri's life a living hell. He bullies Omri with pictures on Instagram until Omri kills himself with his father's gun.In the jungle, the tiger that hurt Cole last episode, needs to be stopped as Loki saw it come closer to their 'camp' and deci...
This episode was a serious letdown. I thought that it would be fun to read an episode centered around a gamer but, honestly, this episode only brings gamers down. I used to play a lot more than I do today, however, even at my height, I wasn't like Loki. Gamers can have (and do have!) normal lives, we don't sacrifice school because of games. (well, at least most of us don't)

Season 1: Episode 4Ah, Loki’s plight is something all too familiar to too many teenagers. Not being the best looking, most talented, or most athletic person in the world; Loki finds himself through video games. After a fight with his best friend, his online identity is released and he in turn tortured in his real life and his gaming life. Loki’s ready to make a drastic and permanent decision. Now on an unknown world, he uses the skills he garnered from playing video games to come up with shelter,...
Love this book! I couldn't stop reading❤
Note: I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley. This is a novelette. A short one. It is a middle-grade’s version of a Kindle Single.True to how it is marketed, this short story reads like a TV episode. The overarching theme is still the gathering of teens who “appear” in this post-apocalyptic world. Reasons for them being put together is unclear, but they understand that they somehow need to survive this unknown habitat and the dangers lurking within this place. The tension is amplifie...
This week, we get to know Loki, a young man who escapes a reality of bullying through video games, only to find his bullies have followed him there. My friends, this is one tough and intense episode. E.C. Myers addresses a topic not broached often enough - the bullying of boys. We see a lot of references to the "mean girls" in our society but the bullying of boys is something that we need to talk more about. Loki (which is his online screen name) faces intense online bullying from a boy he used
I need more answers! It's nice to know the characters, and this episode touches really important subjects, but my curiosity needs to be quenched!!
In this episode it's time for Loki to tell his story. Loki Always wants to help, Always stays to himself and is very quiet. So I was really curious to what his story was. And I'm speechless. All I'm saying is: it is never okay to bully anybody. Bullying has consequences, always. And in the end there are two wounded and my questions are not answered. I highly recommend this short-story series.***Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review***
