An interview with the author was conducted in August, 2016:
Q – It seems as though these books follow the Control Series.
A – They do. Control ends with Annie having saved thousands of lives. She had a lot of help, but she’s the hero. Bureaucracy takes its time, but she gets her wish, serving on a Presidential candidate’s detail.
Q – And the books are set in the present?
A – Yes, right now. Gone takes place over a few days before the party conventions and Missing is set a few months later, just before the Presidential election.
Q – How did you get the ideas?
A – They’re what-ifs. In the first book, what if the Candidate is threatened by the people sworn to protect her? In the second, what if the opposition is desperate enough to stop her by any means? I'm not saying that's happening, but it's not really a stretch.
Q - Why should readers give these books a try?
A – I love reading mysteries, detective and political thrillers. These books combine those genres. Hopefully people who read them will like the combination, too. The books are crime thrillers that leave you wrung out and satisfied. In each, the heroine pays a life-changing price. Add a little bit of romance, and you’ve got a plot that twists and turns all the way to the end.
Q – Are there prequels or sequels available?
A – Yes, there are plenty of stories before this one.
