A Journey begins with the first step....
A cool, rainy November day. Not the sort of day that would mark the beginning of a Journey of a lifetime. Looking back, Finn would have preferred a more memorable beginning but, little did he understand the significance of the day. Finn had often made the trip from Caan to Thar but the trip today was one that would change his life forever. Finn had lived in Caan all his life and loved the little village. But, living in a small rural village had some drawbacks. The largest was that there was only one shop in town where one could purchase supplies and Kian the shopkeeper only had a small building so many items needed to be purchased in the capital city of Thar. Thar was the capital of the country of Noor. Noor is a small country between the Niva Sea and the Occid Ocean. The population of Noor was a few hundred thousand people at the time of the start of Finn's Journey. Most of these people lived in Thar. The remainder lived in the small villages like Caan that surrounded the capital seaport city. To the north, across the Occid Ocean, lie the Candar mountains, a tall, virtually impenetrable barrier that stood between the ocean and the "land of the ancients" Doomdor. No one who ever ventured into this land ever returned. The only knowledge of this mysterious land was a few old maps and charts and, of course, the stories that the elders would tell that had been passed down from their elders. As Finn headed towards Thar early that morning, little did he expect that this journey would take him deep into Doomdor, a living nightmare was beginning to unfold.
