This is one of my all time favorite comic books next to Calvin and Hobbes, What's Michael and Sgt. Frog. I wish the author had made this into a full series.
my friend bill gave me this for my birthday a while back. it's about Peanut Butter the cat, who "works" in his person's office, and his friend Jeremy the crow, who has a slight mean streak. gimme a book with a talking cat and i'm all over it. i have a big giant crush on James Kochalka, ever since Monkey Vs Robot.
four of my most favorite things:1) cats2) neckties3) variety of hats4) spontaneous napping....it really is the best book ever.
I mean, you can't go wrong with a cat who wants to be the best office employee in the world who crosses paths with an asshole crow who just wants to trick him.
A working cat (yes he has a job in his owners office) and a crow because the best of friends in a quirky and somewhat abusive relationship. It's adorable <3
5,000 stars. The title got it right--this book is everything you hope for and more--witty and fun and sweet without being cloying. This one will immediately improve your day, even if a mean crow steals your best work hat.
Fun graphic novel, I guess. I just couldn't get over the stinky attitude of that crow, man he made me grumpy! Uhg! Great book to get reluctant readers into, though. It is a quick and simple read. The humor is fun, the cat is super cute and charming, but that crow just keeps taking advantage of a good friend!! At the least it can be a good lead in to what makes a good friend :)
I read this way back when it came out, and have had fond memories of it ever since, so I decided it was time for a re-read. I love it so much! Peanut Butter is so sweet, and Jeremy is such a jerk. The beauty of their relationship is how despite being very different in so many ways, they each are getting something that they need from the friendship. Jeremy in particular is a complex character, openly hostile and yet has occasional moments of self-awareness, in part brought on by Peanut Butter's u...
Some of it was cute, mostly Peanutbutter, but overall I really didn't enjoy it. Jeremy is just so mean all the time and he doesn't add anything to the story but being cruel and stealing Peanutbutter's hats.
Note: I accessed a digital review copy of this book through Edelweiss.
The cat named Peanutbutter thinks he is working in an office, helping process or file accounts, when he is napping on the top of a pile of papers - and sometimes scattering them around the house. The crow named Jeremy is mean and self-centered and annoying. Not much happens, but it's possible cat-lovers or people who like Dilbert will also like this.
James Kochalka is amazing.I loved Jeremy, he is so hardcore.. especially when he had a gun. Peanutbutter is cute and reminds me of Spandy but with cool hats and ties. Also, I think the pairing of the adorable kitten and the badass crow is pretty brilliant... with hilarious results.

Looking for graphic novels to put in the juvenile section? Here’s one that is a lot of fun and is appropriate for younger kids! Peanutbutter is a cat with a job—she often “works” at filing papers, sorting accounts and general office management for her “boss.” Jeremy is a crow who lives outside Peanutbutter’s house...er...”office”—he’s mean and crude, but Peanutbutter calls him her best friend. Both are typical representations of the creatures they portray, but they also have their own personalit...
Unlikely pairing of a bird and cat being friends. But the worst part is that the bird constantly tricks the cat and calls it names, but the cat never stands up for itself. Illustrations overly simple and do not add to the quality of the book.
This is the hilarious story of a cat named Peanutbutter and a crow named Jeremy, who is always trying to steal Peanutbutter's hats. The artwork is simple, but that makes it all the more hilarious. I want to buy this one for my very own.
This is the cutest and most delightful comic I've read in a long time
Fun.
Peanut Butter and Jeremy’s Best Book Ever is a whimsical collection of the adventures of a naive workaholic cat (who thinks he is an office employee) named Peanutbutter and a sarcastic trickster crow named Jeremy. Peanutbutter, who takes himself much too seriously, needs a nemesis-pal like Jeremy around to bring him back down to earth. Character development here is excellent – the two epitomize their species and display charmingly human affectations as well. The art is smooth, featuring simple l...
So I was working the children's room when I came across this book-- a graphic novel about the love-hate relationship between Peanut Butter, a sweet house cat with a penchant for paperwork and hats, and a mean spirited crow named Jeremy who terrorizes the cat. It's got that Saturday morning cartoony vibe except the parts with the crow and the gun are just downright disturbing. But I didn't stop reading it--- it had some really funny parts, and some good morals (see the birthday one)and is perfect...
