Knowledge Transfer: Introduction to Macro-Informatics

Knowledge Transfer: Introduction to Macro-Informatics

Tamas Gergely
0/5 ( ratings)
In this book we describe a new educational philosophy that has the potential to dramatically improve the mass education system. The key features of this philosophy are establishment of highly productive educational spaces, introduction of personalised education within the mass education system, adaptation to the needs of fast changing educational, scientific and technological environments, harmonising the educational goals of society with those of its individuals.
Our education philosophy focuses on the concepts of information, knowledge and knowledge formation both in real and virtual environments. To accommodate these factors, we propose an appropriate theory of mind, in which knowledge is considered a special organ of the mind. As humans acquire knowledge, the growth of the knowledge-organ undergoes freedom-based self-regulating activities such as the creation of educational environments where students can select activities according to their individual interests and capacities. Therefore, in this framework education processes are connected to self-regulating development, which is represented in the proposed model of mind.
Finally, a new theory of learning is formulated, shifting the emphasis towards cognition-based learning from authority-based learning.
