Approaching the Last Days: A Textual Approach

Approaching the Last Days: A Textual Approach

God has given us the Bible to read and study. There are many passages throughout the Bible on the subject of the Last Days that cry out for investigation. It is very important to know what Jesus is warning today’s Christians about, that is, the things that can happen in our own lifetime. In a way it does not matter so long as we are ready by sincere faith and Christian lifestyle. But Jesus does give us teaching on the subject, Gospels which beg to be looked at. The Gospels are an authority for descriptions of these basic events. Jesus and the apostles spoke to the early Christians about what could happen in their lifetime on earth and gave warnings accordingly about true Christian living.
We are now the receivers of that information and we should be willing to listen too. The accounts in the Gospels are quite clear, but it is not until we get to prophesies regarding the time after the Rapture that things are more vague. I am sure the Bible will still exist after the Rapture and inform the readers effectively at the time of things they need to know. However, we have been given a good glimpse of it now especially in the Book of Revelation, and in the Old Testament prophets in regard to the restoration of the Jews.
This work will encourage you to be ready in your heart for when Jesus comes again. Nothing related to the Last Days is more important than this. We cannot be sure that today’s events signify Jesus is coming within the next few weeks, he may come today or even 2000 years from now. Christians over the last 2000 years, since the ministry of Jesus on earth, have believed he was imminent. We should be just as prepared today as they were because we do not know when that day or hour will be. While on earth even Jesus did not know the day or hour
