Favourites are Leon Wing's The Outing, Timothy Nakayama's The Other Side and Masami Mustaza's A Pocketful of Pie.
About a quarter into this anthology, I, a child of Subang Jaya that once shared the same municipality as Petaling Jaya, snorted to myself on how this anthology makes PJ sound so drama one kind than it probably actually is. This anthology is, perhaps, more suited to a literary fiction audience, interested in the extremities of everyday people. I am not part of this audience. Somewhere after a dozen stories of horrible uninspiring people doing horrible banally evil or stupid bullshit, or some sort...
They were all cleverly written. Fixi books have changed my previous and mostly negative views on Malaysian authors. My personal favourites are 'Amcorpichrist' and 'Nik Needs A Nick', which consists of humor bold yet comfortable enough to mellow down its violent nature. This is a very good short stories collection about Petaling Jaya. I enjoyed "The Outing", "A Pocketful of Pie" & "Snatch Me If You Can".

I really appreciate that the characters are your ordinary person walking down the street or the one living in the apartment next to yours. The ones that I highlighted below are the ones that really stood out for me:Take The Rats of SS2. Omgosh that was a strong opening. I would actually pay money to read more of the setting between the rat clan and the crow clan a...
My first introduction to fixi novo. Overall, it was good to grasp the creativity and imagination of our local writers. Keep it up..!
Such a great book, wish I have read it earlier.
Originally, I wasn't planning to get this book. What changed my mind? I was browsing the bookstore shelves as usual and this title was unwrapped. I decided to read a bit to satisfy my inner cat. I knew I had to get it the moment I read a videogame reference in the editor's intro. This book really pushes the envelope when it comes to plot twists. I really enjoyed the stories in them that are peppered with new generation references like anime and Facebook. Always a joy to read good quality Malaysi...
