I was planning on rating this book one star, as I was confused through most of it, and I really don't like the main character. I think she's whiny, mean, and spoiled. But I decided on two because of Venn. I really grew to love him, and I felt my emotions being tugged on due to him. This earned the book a higher rating for me.

The second book still has the wonderful writing style that I love although the story line isn't as compelling. Too many questions and not enough answers - on to the third book!

This will always be my most favorite of this series. The Rise is probably the coolest place I have ever read about in a book - I would visit it in a heart-beat and happily get lost exploring its moving rooms!

Maybe a 3.5? I'm not sure. I still really liked this one - the one thing I wanted from it was for Claidi to go to more places than just the one palace, but at the same time the palace she's at is so magical and intriguing, I loved learning about it. This also definitely read like a middle book, as it didn't really feel like it had any solid ending. Regardless, I still had a really fun time reading it. Onto the next one.

I read this series for the first time when I was 16 and loved it. This book is my favorite installment in the series.

Beautiful story! This is a true young adult book! I would give this book as a gift to any high school girl to read! At first the land building seems to drag on, but by the end of this story you have fallen in love with the land and it’s Prince. It’s a creative story that takes readers on an adventure of a lifetime.

You wouldn't guess from how long it took me to read, but I actually liked this one better than the first. Maybe because there's no Nemian. There were several interesting connections between characters and strange but intriguing technology. Still not 5 star good, but I did really enjoy it.

I will always be sad that Claidi doesn't get to wear her wedding dress in this book for its intended use. How excited I was during my first read for Claidi and Argul to get married then it all changed. I also have to say if I lived in a place where the rooms changed constantly I would be lost in seconds. You would find my body years later all shriveled and confused looking.

A nice sequel to the first book. I enjoyed the mystery at the beginning and subsequent unraveling throughout the rest. Though for a while this felt like a lot of filler. Incredibly fast and easy read, though. And a definite need to read for those that enjoyed the first. I really don't wanna give away much but the story of the Prince is quite sad.
