Rick Elliott spent much of his life training soldiers for combat but has now retired to a quiet life of blogging and touring the country on his motorcycle. When a bombing takes place in a small-town southern diner, killing a senator, the incident is written off as an act of terrorism committed by a young Syrian man who worked there.
Rick is out on one of his random rides when the bombing occurs and the public explanation just doesn't add up in his mind. Since he's relatively close to the scene, he decides to do some personal investigation.
Upon arrival, Rick meets Deputy Sara Baker, a young but sharp cop who agrees that the investigation was a cover-up. However, Sara's department has been ordered to leave the case alone. Sara, the local representative for the investigation, teams up with Rick to uncover the truth and clear the name of an innocent man.
