What if all the cold criminal cases were the work of the paranormal?

The world has changed and vampires are real. The members of the Federal Office of Human and Vampire Administration are asked to investigate the paranormal side of three murders from over thirty years ago that closed a local mine in the town of Rowan, West Virginia. Dr. Emma Burcham must deal with the events of the previous investigation if she is to help solve the new case.

Who murdered those miners? Was it human or non-human? What is it that prompted the murders? They don’t seem to follow the pattern of normal murders by vampires. Bites out of the bodies? What else goes bump in the night?
