In the novel Exchange, town-sized chunks of our reality temporarily trade places with pieces of another reality. This is a companion and sampler for the novel, set in the same universe. It combines the book equivalent of a DVD extras disk with a short-story/novella collection set in the same science-fiction universe as Exchange, the alternate history novel. The short stories/novellas include:

- Winston: Winston is small for a bear, but when he escapes into our reality he may change it forever.
- Freedom: Exchanges are the ultimate way to get away from it all, to an alternate reality with no people, no bureaucrats, no taxes. But freedom has its price.
- Bat Out of Hell: Seed-eating bats from an alternate reality look harmless, but in the wrong hands they’re a potent bio-weapon. Now a breeding pair is about to fall into terrorist hands.
