In Their Own Words: The Greek New Testament for Students and Pastors-Mark, Romans, 1 John

In Their Own Words: The Greek New Testament for Students and Pastors-Mark, Romans, 1 John

Isaiah Allen
0/5 ( ratings)
Deep, substantial, and frequent engagement with the New Testament is essential to Christian theological and ethical formation. Most people are more familiar with the NT in one of its thousands of vernacular translations, but the church needs leaders and teachers who are competent to interpret the message on the basis of the Greek text. Working directly and regularly with the Greek NT helps us to develop and retain essential skills for exegesis, so we need access to the entire Greek NT or to significant portions of it. This book combines the Greek text and Introductions for studying Mark, Romans, and 1 John. Several reasons exist for offering this book. Since the NT is central to Christianity, the global church needs competent original-language interpreters and exegetes. Such competence in Greek requires skill-building and this skill-building requires frequent contact with the Greek text. So, these selected portions of the Greek NT have been introduced and provided here as the most suitable format to reach these pedagogical aims.
