The circumfiance of feeing the remain ing copies of his fubfcription poems, in (marto, lately difpofedof at an inconfider able value, could not fail to excite in a fpe&ator, pofiefied of any portion of taf'ce, a kiild of indignation at the groﬂ'nefs of popular inattention to fuch difiinguifhed merit. The indignation thus cafually roufed, could as little fail to be increafed by the temarkable applaufe, at the fame time, laviihly befiowed ou very'inferiour wnters.'
