Thomas De Quincey
4.5/5 ( ratings)
Immanuel Kant was a German philosopher. He argued that fundamental concepts structure human experience, and that reason is the source of morality. His thoughts today continue to have a major influence on fields such as metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political philosophy, and aesthetics.

Kant's major work, the Critique of Pure Reason , tries to explain the relationship between reason and human experience. The work was Kant’s attempt at putting an end to what he considered an era of futile and speculative theories of human experience.

Kant published several other important works on ethics, religion, law, aesthetics, astronomy, and history. These include the Critique of Practical Reason , Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals , which deals with ethics, and the Critique of Judgment , which looks at aesthetics and teleology.
