The purpose of this book is to help anyone who may be facing unfortunate circumstances which have led them to defaulting on one or more mortgages. I don’t think I have ever met anyone who intended to have a property foreclosed on, and I know my wife and I didn’t. We didn’t wake up one morning and say:
Wouldn’t it be great to stop making mortgage payments, receive degrading letters and phone calls, feel like a dead- beat and ruin our credit?
If you are in this situation, don’t get too down on yourself. It hap- pens to the best of us. What’s important is how you handle it. All is not lost! Life is not over! In fact, handle this correctly and things may be even better than when you started. That’s what happened to us!
