These are fun, quick little essays that I read mostly in one night. With any collection, there will always be some much better than others, but overall it's worthy of reading.

It's always difficult to rate an essay or short story compilation, because it's inevitable that there will be duds in the bunch. There may be a handful of five star essays, dragged down by the one-star stories that inexplicably made it into the collection. That's certainly true here. Some essay are very querky . The Meghan Daum piece is the best of the bunch .
