The Many Notched Axe (The Last Human Prophecy Book 1)

The Many Notched Axe (The Last Human Prophecy Book 1)

Jonathan Johnson
0/5 ( ratings)
Centuries ago the Overmaster carved a bloody path across the realm in his bid to unite the varied races. Orcs, elves, dwarves, goblins, dark elves and more were welcome in his kingdom so long as they swore fealty to the one most referred to as the Reincarnated god. All were welcome save one race. Humans.

As the Overmaster rose to power, the realm’s most renowned prophecy gave his most lasting prophecy. One day, the last of the humans would return to the overthrow the Overmaster. Behind the last human, a new age would dawn. An age without the dark blight of the Overmaster’s shadow.

Nearly two decades have passed since the last human outpost was destroyed. Human sightings are as rare as that of great golden dragons and contained solely to the tales of impoverished children. But now, deep in the forests of the realm, a human has been found. Raised by elves, Ry’an may well be the last human. And now that the Overmaster knows of his existence, nowhere and no one in the realm is safe.

The Many Notched Axe is the first book in the Last Human Prophecy, a trilogy of books that follows Ry’an and his battles not only with the Overmaster and his forces, but fate itself. Fleeing across the realm, Ry’an encounters the many races of the realm and discovers not all people want him to overthrow the seemingly immortal Overmaster. The last of the humans, despite being joined by his adopted sister and their wizard protector, Ry’an begins to see just how truly alone one man can be.

Hunting the last human is one of those men who would not see the Overmaster’s empire overthrown. Trondur is an up and coming elite guardsman of the realm, one of the most feared warriors in existence. Possessed of a magical ebony suit of armor and an axe that knows no end to its hunger, Trondur will stop at nothing to hunt the last human and claim his head.

Many moving parts race to an uncertain end. Is the Last Human Prophecy a promise of a brighter day ahead, or simply a tale of hope to keep the subjugated people from revolting? Ry’an holds the answer to that question, even if he doesn’t want to find out himself. How can one man survive with the fate and pressure of a realm on his shoulders?
