Colonel Jim Shepard rescues a 10 year old Vietnam girl form the Vietcong. He takes her to an orphanage and turns her over to the nuns of the Immaculate Heart of Mary order. After dropping her off at the orphanage he returns to base and tells his commanding officer he wants to retire. Eight years later he thinks about the little girl and wonders what might have happened to her. He finds online that the orphanage is still in operation. He goes back to Vietnam and goes to the orphanage. To his surprise he finds the girl there and has has grown into beautiful, intelligent young woman with a knack for finding buried items. With the help of the nun in charge Sister Marita Jean he manages to fake an adoption and take her back to the states. Once in the states he legally adopts her as his daughter. Money is not a concern to him as he inherited millions of dollars from his parents who were both killed in an automobile accident. He has a b ok store on the campus of Berkeley University which has one of the best Archaeology schools in the nation. She quickly goes through her BS and Masters degrees and is working on her doctorate when her professor asks her if she would like to join him as his assistant on a dig in Egypt to find the tomb of Sekhmet. The professor comes down with hepatitis and asks Jean to take over for him. Her father will go along as security for the team. There are other factions looking for the tomb also, and they do not have man kinds best interest at heart. Follow along with Jean and her little band of warriors as they do battle against the forces of evil. Can jean defeat them and possibly save the world from destruction? You can only find out if you read the book.
