• Three of American author Joseph A. Altsheler’s classic westerns are bound together in this Kindle book: The Texan Star, The Texan Scout & The Texan Triumph
The Texan Star
"The Texan Star," while a complete story in itself, is the first of three books based upon the Texan struggle for liberty against the power of Mexico. This revolution is epic in its nature, and crowded with heroism and great events.
The first phase begins in Mexico with the treacherous imprisonment of Austin, the Texan leader, the rise of Santa Anna and his attempt, through bad faith, to disarm the Texans and leave them powerless before the Indians. It culminates in the rebellion of the Texans, and their capture, in the face of great odds, of San Antonio, the seat of the Mexican power in the north.
The Texan Scout
The second book concerns the coming of Santa Anna with an overwhelming force, the fall of the Alamo, the massacre of Goliad and the dark days of Texas. Yet the period of gloom is relieved by the last stand of Crockett, Bowie, and their famous comrades.
The Texan Triumph
The third book is set in a period of the light in the darkness, Houston's crowning victory at San Jacinto, and the complete victory of the Texans.

Other Novels by Joseph A. Altsheler available through Amazon and Published by Pearl Necklace Books:
The Joseph Altsheler: French and Indian War Series consists of six novels. Each can be read as a separate book, or they may be read together in a series in the following order:
1. The Hunters of the Hills
This is the first volume of a series dealing with the great struggle of France and England and their colonies for dominion in North America, culminating with the fall of Quebec. It is largely concerned with the Iroquois, the mighty league known in their own language as the Hodenosaunee, for which both French and English were high bidders. Altsheler notes that he consulted many authorities, and was not conscious of any historical error.
2. The Shadow of the North
"The Shadow of the North," while an independent story, in itself, is also the second volume of the Great French and Indian War series which began with "The Hunters of the Hills." All the important characters of the first romance reappear in the second.
3. The Rulers of the Lakes
Young Robert Lennox and his friend Tayoga undertake a dangerous trip through the wilderness to warn Fort Refuge of the approach of hostile forces. The story concludes with the battle of Lake George. The Rulers of the Lakes is a complete story, but it is also the third volume of the French and Indian War Series, following The Hunters of the Hills and The Shadow of the North. Robert Lennox, Tayoga, Willet, and all the important characters in the earlier romances reappear.
4. The Masters of the Peaks
"The Masters of the Peaks" is a story of the great north woods and the fourth volume of the French and Indian War Series. Tayoga, Willet, and all the other important characters of the earlier romances reappear
