The Last Vampire

The Last Vampire

Robert Black
0/5 ( ratings)
Journalist, Fiona Harte, travels to Whitby to investigate a spate of murders that the police have been trying to keep quiet- mainly because they bear a resemblance to a vampire attack. The murders also have all the hallmarks of a series of murders over one hundred years ago.
Fiona meets the enigmatic Tanner, the occult bookshop owner with a mysterious past and impressive knowledge of vampire folklore; Ivan, the strange man with a European accent who lives in the church cellar and claims to be a member of the Order of the Dragon, an ancient group of vampires; The Viscount, self-proclaimed Master of the Whitby Vampires who uses his family money to buy ancient artefacts supposedly once owned by Romanian vampire Count Branislav; and Billy, the shy and awkward mortuary assistant and would-be vampire slayer.
Back in the 18th century, the murderous Count Branislav was chased out of Romania by villagers after they killed his bride and burned his castle. Three artefacts that contain untold power were taken to the corners of Europe to be destroyed- a sacrificial dagger, a painting and the mystical Book of the Undead containing powerful spells and said to be bound in human skin. But after accidents befell the carriers the 3 items moved around Europe for the next 200 years. Now more than one party is trying to recover all three items in order that they have the ultimate power to resurrect the Order of the Dragon. Not to mention the stories passed through generations of Romanians that that the Count will one day return to reclaim the 3 items and resurrect his bride.
The Viscount has already found the dagger at an auction in London. Tanner has the painting of the Princess hanging up in the flat above his Occult bookshop. Ivan wants to join forces with Tanner to recover the final item and share the power but Tanner doesn’t want anything to do with Ivan or his own former links to old Romania.
In Whitby everyone has a secret and Fiona finds herself right in the middle of a centuries old power struggle and when the three sacred items finally come together there is a deadly battle where there can be only one winner- and survivor. Fiona Harte becomes a pivotal part of the proceedings as she tries to prevent herself becoming the ultimate sacrifice.
