ARC kindly provided by NetGalley on behalf of the publishers a nice little story about friends who like the same things.my 3.5yo son wasn't a fan, he was very quick to inform me it was a "girls book!" lol
Annie and her best friend Lillemor have so much in common, including their love for things that are pink or purple. But when Lilianne, a new girl from France, arrives, Annie feels left out because it seems the other two girls have much more in common that she and Lillemor did. As it turns out, they share more interests than a love for the same colors and facility with languages. The kid-appealing illustrations were created in pencil and colored in Photoshop and show the anxiety Annie feels at fi...
Summary -- There are many reasons why Annie is best friends with Lillemor, who is from Sweden. They're the same age ... They like the same colors ... They like doing the same things ... They can both speak another language. Okay, so Annie made hers up, but she is pretty sure it still counts? Annie and Lillemor like each other so much they play together every day. But then Lilianne, a new girl from France, arrives. Annie can't stand that Lillemor has become friends with Lilianne, and that Liliann...
One of my tests for a children's book is how often you can read it without getting sick of it. Maybe it's because I can say "Ja kan prata svenska," but we read this one over and over again.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my opinion in any way. This book is one of the cutest books I've read with my children in a long time. I was giggling with delight as I turned each page. Both my eight year old son and my six year old daughter LOVED the book. The sentences were simple enough that they could practice reading them. The art work is beautifully done, in a lovely palate of colors. While it is about three...

There are a lot of things I like about this book, including friends who speak different languages and the friendship triangle plot. However, the book imparts the idea that friendship is built around commonalities and sameness, and that important differences should be minimized rather than acknowledged. Which in my opinion ultimately makes this book a bad choice for young children, for whom we need to emphasize as much as possible the embracing of sameness AND difference. Also, I was annoyed that
This is a very cute story of how children may perceive friendship. As a teacher, I often notice that girls seem to play in pairs and do not always let a third child into their "best-friend" pair. Using this book, an adult can show children that more than two friends can play together and learn from each other happily. It also teaches acceptance of others and other cultures, which is always helpful with young children.
I liked this book because it is all about friendship. It shows a perfect example of how kids react to this situation. I like how it showed the solution and that everyone can find things in common and be friends. It was well illustrated and well written with assistance for the other languages.
Teaches kids to look for similarities amongst each other and to welcome new people into their circle of friends.. It's a good one for little girls, who can struggle with jealousy when childhood friendships shift.
These are a little bit silly but great conversation starters about friendship problems, which is very pertinent for Maddie in kindergarten. Her little group of five girls sometimes get along and sometimes are less harmonious.
I loved this story about friendship and how much we have in common with people who we might think are different than we are. This is a really cute story with great illustrations.
Genre Fiction4-7Level LA Tale of Friendship

Summary: The book begins by describing the friendship between Annie and her Swedish best friend, Lillemor. They are best friends, because they share four major things in common: they are the same age, they like the same colors, they like doing the same things, and they can both speak another language. One day, Annie arrives at school and notices that Lillemor does not greet her with a big hug. To her dismay, Annie sees Lillemor playing with a new French girl named Lilianne. Annie finds out that

A superb short story involving three girls. Two - Annie and Lillemor - are best friends and have lots in common. When the third, a new girl from France - Lilianne - starts at their school Annie is worried that Lillemor will no longer be best friends with her. This story helps children understand that someone else coming doesn’t necessarily mean losing your friend, instead you could add a new friend to your group! This book has delightful illustrations and will appeal to young readers who will ap...
This is a cute story about friendship. It goes to prove the old saying of two is company and three is a crowd is false. Annie, Lillemor, and Lilianne realize they all have things in common and can all be each others friends. It is a good book to read in class to incorporate friendship amongst all students.

Encourages kids to know that they can "share" a friend. Focuses on finding things that you have in common with others.Includes some words/phrases in both Swedish and French.
