AWesome collection of horror stories.
This was a fun, eclectic mix of writing types and stories. For the most part, I loved all of them. There were a couple I couldn't get through, but the great thing about flash fiction is that I just skipped them and went to the next. For a spooky Halloween feel, this is a great read. I was a bit creeped out at night.
Disclaimer: I am one of the many authors who contributed to this book. That being said, I can happily review the other stories - a wild mix of all emotions is present, though all are tinged with unease. A jumbly bag of horrific delight.
I haven’t previously read much horror fiction (unless you count creepypasta stories), but I do enjoy a good scare, so I was happy to give this anthology a read. For full disclosure, I received a free Kindle copy from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.Overall, I would say this collection of 50 flash fiction stories from 50 different authors is an enjoyable way to sample different styles of horror writing. Readers will encounter a wide range of different monsters, from grisly ghouls t...
A multitude of scare! Loved the variety of spooky stories. Really put me in the mood for Halloween.
Because sometimes its okay to judge by the cover. That is exactly what I took from this one. When I looked at the cover image I knew it had to be great inside and I was not let down one bit. This is an anthology of short stories centered around the title, which left broad scope for what creepy could possibly mean. It was a real eye opener to see exactly where the authors went with it. What is creepy ranged from the natural (lets use that term loosely) human kind of creepy, to the supernatural kin...
It deserves five stars as it is a great read... Creepy gets a new meaning with each tale! I am so honoured to be a part of this anthology, and I know you all will love reading it!Get it and start looking behind you and wondering about bumps in the night...
This is my pick for the BookRiot 2020 Read Harder challenge 22. Read a horror book published by an indie press
All were mostly creepy scary short stories. Overall well done.
BUY!!!!!!
The first thing that grabbed me about this book was the cover. I find it super creepy and I couldn't wait to see if the stories were as good as the cover. I wasn't disappointed. There were a few stories that didn't really do much for me, but for the most part I was very pleased with this book. I read several of the stories out loud to my 13 year old son and he commented, more than once, how "messed up" a story was. In case you were wondering, that means he really liked it. ;-) Most of the storie...
A lot of hit and miss stories, some good, some bad and some just meh.
I am so honored to have one of my stories in this anthology because these are some of the best writers I've read! I simply loved all the various tales and seeing how each author ran with "creepy". I was so engrossed in the book that I missed the nurse calling my name while waiting to see the doctor. (They both ordered a copy before I left!)These tales range from the odd to the down right terrifying. I'm not sure I've slept soundly since finishing it. Things that go bump in the night are suddenly...
In creeps horrorThis review is from: In Creeps the Night (Kindle Edition)Once upon a time I read a lot of horror fiction including H.P. Lovecraft, August Derleth, & many others. This volume is as good as any anthology I can remember. The stories have a variety of themes to appeal to most tastes. Most of the horror is in the reader's own mind rather than attempting to bludgeon the reader with the mere appearance of creepies & overly lurid descriptions of gore.
