Not as solid as the first one but I liked the ending a lot!
"in space, no one can hear you MEOWWWHISSSS"shut up, I'm dying, I'm dead, I'm 20 ghostsLOOK AT THE COVER OF THIS, IT'S LITERALLY RAINING CATS* ON HER* fine, cat-like aliensI can't deal with how fun and sweet and badass this all is. I CANNOT deal.
Bullet Review:Meh. I'm really unimpressed with this volume - from the "meh" Rocket Racoon & flerken story to the horrendous rhyming Dr. Seuss wannabe to the slightly better "Letters from Home" issues. I don't really see anything to make one excited about Carol Danvers in this, and yet we're supposed to care because she's been gone so long - I didn't realize there was so much time passage in 11 issues (maybe it's different when you're reading them monthly instead of in a trade) - and she's away f...
I would be dishonest if I said this volume wasn’t a bit of a letdown after how much I loved Higher, Faster, Further, More. I still love the art. I still love the characters. I still love the sense of humor. But the three stories that make up this particular volume were just so lightweight. Almost bordering on the absurd. One of these would probably have been okay, but three in a row knocked this down a star. I need a little bit of pathos with my absurdity, thank you very much. The first story was...
Silly fun, but Carol really needs to get back to Earth.
****second read****I felt the same. It’s ok. I like it, but it’s too soft. Not cool enough. I’m a grownup and I want my OP, cosmic superhero to beat the shit out of more people.******first read******Some great plusses... some damning minuses!Plus:First couple stories were awesome. I loved the flerken part. I loved the rhyming part.Minuses: everything else. The part with the rats was quite a bore. The part at the end with Santa was so meh... I get that they were trying to be cute and funny, and i...
Rocket & Chewie steal the show in Stay Fly! Warning: Sorta-Kinda Spoilers Ahead!Honestly, if you've been reading this title, you saw this coming, but the spoiler warning is for the whiner babies. You know who you are...The best part of this volume is (of course) the stuff with Chewie. Rocket and his big mouth have let it slip that he thinks Carol's cat is a Flerken. If true, she would be the last of her kind. And her kind are able to create pathways to pocket dimensions. Or something like that.
If you’re not a fan of Captain Marvel, this issue probably isn’t going to make you into one. The three storylines are relatively light, though there is some sweet stuff — parts where Spider-woman, Rhodey, Kit, Tic and Chewie all appear. One of the storylines focuses on Chewie, in fact, with Rocket Raccoon along for the ride. There’s also a nice bit with Tracy, continuing the theme of her relationship with Carol.A lot of this is funny/silly, and I love Takara’s art style. But it’s not any kind of...
Carol meets Santa in this varied collection of adventures for all the kiddies. I would have preferred a proper story arc. They're cute, but cuteness that rarely works for me. If you like animals, weddings and a return of what seems to be one of Carol's villains, then you should be ok reading this.Carol's cat Chewie is a Flerken. It lays over a hundred eggs that start to hatch right when Carol's ship is being attacked by a giant black mass. (view spoiler)[Carol defeats the attacker and knows she
Totally bonkers and a bit confusing, but nevertheless great fun!
Captain Marvel and Rocket Racoon are great together, always disagree and still help each other ( like brothers and sisters )I enjoyed the 7 and 8 issue of cource, but after that its nothing special. If you are a fan of Captain Marvel (like me) It is worth it a look
maybe more like 3.7? 3.8? I didn't enjoy this volume as much as Captain Marvel's first volume. It felt really disconnected to me; all of the issues included didn't really fit into a common story arc. The first 2 had their own arc about the cat-flerken, which I wasn't too captivated by (thought the Rocket Raccoon cameo was appreciated). The next 2 issues I honestly just didn't understand. It was all about a rockstar who could travel to other dimensions (or galaxies?? I couldn't tell) and made Ca
Captain Marvel sure is hilarious! She was totally tough here although this Volume felt pretty disjointed with a lot of seemingly random adventures. I loved the whole Fleerkin thing with the Guardians of the Galaxies and Captain Marvel kicking ass as always.
Rocket Raccoon tried to tell Captain Marvel that her pet cat, Chewie, wasn’t really a cat at all but an alien called a Flerken that would lay eggs everywhere. Carol didn’t buy this, but it turns out that Rocket was right. Let this be a lesson to us all. When a talking space raccoon tries to tell you that your pet isn’t what it seems, you should listen. Before you can cough up a furball Captain Marvel, Rocket, and their new alien friend Tic are up to their armpits in Flerken eggs while some bad gu...
the last two issues in this blew me away. can i ever read a captain marvel comic without having tears in my eyes from carol’s selflessness and care towards others? she has the biggest heart in the world and inspires even the most super — from santa to war machine ✨
To me this was a bit of a let down after the awesomeness of Volume 1. The first couple of issues in here were great, Rocket was fantastic and Chewie the cat... it's just hilarious. But then we go on another 'adventure' that I just found unnecessary, strange and a bit silly in the grand scheme of things. Maybe those characters will reappear further along the story arc and all will make sense, but for now it's just odd and not that interesting. I will, obviously, continue with the series. It's Cap...
An entertaining read.
This one was okay.Well, Rocket, I thought the storyline about Captain Marvel protecting her cat was cutesy fun, but it just didn’t push the humor envelope as much as it could have. This volume was certainly less dour than one of the Captain Marvel Volume One’s that I’ve read. (Hint: there's more than one. Bite me, Marvel!)The Lila Cheney storyline was awful. Rock music and comics go together like my grandma and fish net stockings. One vote for Lila Cheney being the worst mutant ever. Redundant po...
Some funny bits but Captain Marvel just doesn't jive with me. I think I'll like the movie though. I hope.
"I think I'd rather marry a cat.""I can arrange that."
