Prince Dracula: The Vampire Chronicles

Prince Dracula: The Vampire Chronicles

Bram Stoker
4.6/5 ( ratings)
“The prince of darkness is a gentleman!” ― William Shakespeare, King Lear

From the classic horror of Bram Stoker, infused with the flavor of Anne Rice’s romance, comes a whole new story of intrigue and danger.

London, 1893. A tide of gloom and fear rises from the dark heart of Europe, taking aim at the modern world. A student of sciences, recently returned from Paris, finds herself caught between the man she's promised to marry and a mysteriously hypnotic stranger; even as her best friend struggles with an unknown illness and bloodless bodies are being found at an alarming rate. A professor with a troubled history comes to the aid of a former student, a doctor hopelessly in love with the same dangerously ill woman desired by his closest friends. You know their names. You may have even known their story. But not now. Witness a delicious new vision of the classic horror tale as you go on a journey into the awakening of Mina Murray. Erotic, action-packed, and absolutely frightening, this is Prince Dracula.

Excerpt from the pages of Prince Dracula:

When they reached the room, he slid his free hand into a pocket and retrieved the key. As he turned the key in the lock, he never released her hand. Only when he finished and pushed the door open did he step back and gesture broadly, inviting her to enter the room.
Even in the dim glow of low lamplight, Mina could see the opulence of the suite. The décor communicated nothing so much as wealth and indulgence. She turned back to Vlad as he shut the door.
“Are we to dine here, or did you make a reservation?” she asked.
A twitch of amusement crossed his face. “Were you under the impression that I’d invited you for dinner?”
Mina paused. He was correct, of course; the note had said nothing about it. “I apologize for my assumption, but that was what I thought.”
Vlad walked toward her. “I said that I wanted to see you.”
She looked up into his eyes as he stopped you front of her. “And now you have seen me.”
He smiled. Warm. Confident. “Yes, but not nearly enough.”
Mina said, “Vlad, I—” and the rest of her words disappeared in the crush of his kiss, the firm pressure which she found more than welcome. She ran her hands up his arms, felt his face. He held her tightly around the waist with one arm. His free hand touched her lightly on the neck, and then he raised it slightly as he ran the tips of his fingers through her hair.
She reached up and tossed her hat aside, and then pulled away from him long enough to pull a ribbon from her hair. The blonde waves cascaded over her shoulders as she found his kiss again.
Vlad pushed the hair off her shoulders and moved his lips down to kiss her there. She recalled what followed the last time that he did that. Her hands went his hair, urging him to continue. This time, she was aware of the material moving from her shoulders and down her arms.
