Understanding Multiple Sclerosis

Understanding Multiple Sclerosis

Michael Little
0/5 ( ratings)
Disseminated Sclerosis, more popularly known as Multiple Sclerosis, is the disease of the Central Nervous System . It is widely accepted as an autoimmune disease, a result of the body attacking its own structures, wherein the cells of the body and the immune system and its chemicals which were supposed to protect the body against invasion of disease-causing components attack the myelin sheath or the covering of the never cells instead. Thus causing damage or demyelination, scars or sclerosis and inflammation.

Although multiple sclerosis affects men, women are at higher risks of developing this autoimmune disease, making them 2 to 3 times more likely to develop the condition. It is typically found among people aged 20 to 50 years old.

This 24 page book will introduce you to this disease so that you have a better understanding of what the person with Multiple Sclerosis is experiencing.
