Billy isn't going crazy, he thinks he is, but visions of flying over the River Mersey with the Liver Birds would cause anyone to question their sanity. He is, however; or will be, a shape-shifter, he just doesn’t know that yet. For now, he’s a moody, irritable little git, who’d rather spend time with his collection of 70's vinyl records than his best mate.
Born with eyes the colour of emeralds, he’s had to deal with his fair share of teasing and bullying. Until that is, his life takes a rather bizarre turn. A mysterious book, sent from an estranged uncle lands on his doorstep. The book leads him to the somewhat frightening realization that magic is in fact, real. However, unlike the movies, there are no wizards or witches to steer him along this new and unexpected career path, and he's left to figure it out on his own.
After dealing with crazed pigeons, dog-nappers and putting the whole of Wallasey on lockdown, things don't get any easier and his adventure escalates. The uncle is taken hostage, compelling him to undertake a secretive and stress-filled journey to the historic ruins of Machu Picchu, in a heroic and completely disorganised attempt to save him. What could possibly go wrong?
Aside from his mother finding out that is...
