The Western Witches: part 2 Stones and Bones

The Western Witches: part 2 Stones and Bones

Bob Gill
0/5 ( ratings)
The Human inhabitants of the western counties unknowingly share their world with witches. By day these hide, or transform into people or animals, but at night their world comes alive.
In Part 1 Wich Hunt, a mutilated body was found on a Devon beach. A police investigation began, led by local detectives; the hapless Inspector Jenkins and his assistant DS Moore, hindered by various other members of the force, including the Chief Constable and the mysterious PC Jenny Burns.
The witches also investigated, for they realised that the body was not human, nor of their kind, and that it had awesome potential power. Humans must not know this, so the witches thwarted the police investigation. They also kept it from their evil queen, Serlgar, who would try to use it for her own ends.
One human does know of witches; Anna-Bella Coal. Her best friend, Rosemary Blackthorn, is a witch. The witches see her as a threat. She was the only witness to the killing, apart from an unidentified young boy, so the witches decided it was time to rid themselves of her.
When Rosemary was forced to double-cross Anna-Bella, she chose instead to warn her friend then run, effectly signing her own death warrant. Her only hope was a thirty-mile cross-country trek to Dartmoor, where distant relatives might help. So a witch hunt began.
The first hunter was Anna-Bella, who knew that her priority was not to find her friend, but save her from the others. She had to save herself, too, when she realised that the witches were also after her.
The next hunters were witches. Their goal was clear; to find and kill the witch girl then rid the world of her friend.
The third hunter was Inspector Jenkins. He and DS Moor enlisted the help of an old friend, PC Bill Brown, when the hunt moved to his area. They didn't know it was a witch they were hunting, but suspected that the missing schoolgirl was a link to the murder.
The fourth hunter was Rosemary's sly brother Tom, who had a grudge against her and wanted to use her demise as a way to curry favour with Serlgar. She was the final hunter, and nothing could thwart the witch queen for long.
But with guile and determination Rosemary outwitted them all, reaching the apparent safety of a family cave, where three strange old witches incessantly chanted spells.
In Part 2 Stones and Bones, Rosemary begins to doubt that the cave is the safe citadel she thought. Her fears are confirmed when Serlgar invades, leading to a deadly confrontaion with the old witches.
Rosemary is chased and imprisoned in a labyrinth of caves. The future seems hopeless.
Meanwhile, witches from other parts of the western counties are drawn into the mystery of the body on the beach. They begin to realise the terrible danger it poses.
To baffle the police they find a replacement body for them to investigate; moving a skeleton across the countryside with hilarious consequences. The police continue to be thwarted by witches, their own ineptitude, reporters, odd dogs and elusive schoolgirls.
To the witches' consternation, another skeleton walks out of the sea; the body is back, and nothing will stop it this time.
And all is not lost for Rosemary; a teenaged male cousin seeks Anna-Bella and together they set out on a dangerous quest to save her.
Join them and share the suspence, horror, laughter, tears and sheer magic of their adventure!
