Another Time, Another Life

Another Time, Another Life

Ian Murray
0/5 ( ratings)
The story of A Prisoner of War in World War II. Captured in the North African desert by Rommel's troops, the young South African volunteer soldier is first taken to Benghazi in Libya, then to Italy and then, when Italy collapses, to Germany where he finally liberates himself and walks to the American lines.
It is a story of courage and hope, punctuated by despair. You can sense the youth becoming a man and anybody who has served in the military will recognize the type of soldier he was. Courageous and restless, you can't keep him down. He always seems to find a way to make his and his friends lives a little better and a little more comfortable.
It is a story full of incident and interest with penetrating observations of daily life in Italy and Germany. In the latter part of his imprisonment he was very far from being confined to a prison camp but moved around either alone or as part of a work-party.
He was a lovely man, a good strong man and these experiences built him and shaped his future life.
