The ebook contains photographic images by Scott D Welch depicting Certain Points of View?. In this case , Bodiam Castle.
Bodiam Castle is a 14th-century moated sandstone castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex, England. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of King Edward III, to defend the area against French invasion during the Hundred Years' War. The castle features a quadrangular plan with no keep, while the four corners and entry are marked by towers, and its various chambers were constructed around the outer walls and inner courts.
The castle passed through various families for approximately three centuries and is thought to have been at least partially dismantled during the mid-seventeenth century. It lay in ruin until purchased in 1829 when some restoration efforts commenced, but never completed to its original state. Since 1925, Bodiam Castle has been owned by The National Trust, when it was donated by its last owner Lord Curzon.
The photographs in this book were captured in September 2010 and provide a pictorial tour of many external vantage points and show various interior structures that remain. Of note is the large moat surrounding the rather small castle, which was designed to provide a full reflection, thus making the structure appear larger and more formidable.
Please note: As the landscape oriented photographs are four-color, they will only appear in color by those who use Amazon's free Kindle apps for PC, MAC, iPad, iPhone, and Android devices. Otherwise, the images on Kindle are displayed in 16 shades of gray, providing great contrast and clarity, but lacking the spectrum of colors which add to viewing pleasure.
