Informer is a quarterly journal of the history of American crime and law enforcement with a special emphasis on the history of the American Mafia and other aspects of organized crime. Founded in September 2008, its well written and painstakingly researched feature articles have been the work of some of the finest historians in the field.
In addition to its feature articles, Informer contains regularly appearing columns, book reviews, true crime author interviews, Mafia membership charts.
Recent feature subjects have included Chicago mobster Al Capone's incarceration in Philadelphia, the 1932 murder of Pittsburgh boss John Bazzano, Fidel Castro and underworld-run casinos in Havana, Fred "Killer" Burke in southwest Michigan, the last days of the Brady Gang.
The Kindle version of Informer has the same content as the print and PDF editions of the journal.
