Better than the previous installment (especially in regard to the artwork), but still not great. I was never a fan of the John Carter stories involving brain swapping and the Martian "machine men." To me, they represent Edgar Rice Burroughs at his worst. Elements of this story also harken back to the first volume of the DEJAH THORIS comic--a story I didn't much care for either.
Beautiful art and an equally good story.
Okay this actually improves quite a lot over the previous terrible terrible volume. And goes out and tells a genuinely quite interesting sci fi story set on Barsoom in which characters do stuff that makes sense and Dejah's nipple glue remains as secure as ever.

An antagonist returns and is once again defeated, but he will likely return in the future.Mortus is a leader of a new and feared assassin's guild in Zodanga. Gunbor, a master spy, infiltrates the Zodangan underworld to investigate, unaware that Dejah is stowed away on his ship. He tries to protect her, but will need her help more than he real...
