His journey has barely started when he meets Juliet, the widow of an American billionaire, on an Amsterdam canal boat. She reveals that she is out to exact revenge on a dangerous man who cheated her husband out of a valuable picture from the Dutch Golden Age. She wants it back, no matter what the cost, and she wants Harry’s help.

Not wanting to be left out of the caper is Harry’s honorary granddaughter Bill, a bright and sparky National Gallery attendant with an encyclopaedic knowledge of art.

The Cross Double touches on death, grief, apparitions, greed, revenge and priceless art. It's a book with a light touch and at its heart is a story of friendship and new beginnings.
