I have so many issues with this book I don't even know where to begin. I suppose the one issue I just could not look over was the fact that the heroine knew she was pregnant (I don't know how she knew that)and agreed to get completely drunk with the hero. The hero also knew she was pregnant and was willing to do whatever needed to be done to keep her and the baby safe - everything but not get completely drunk, obviously.
Got bored
I couldn't finish it!! I really tried, but the characters were incomplete, even though the plot was decent enough. It needs to be filled out to make it a complete story.
3.5 StarsSamantha is out in the wilderness trying to repair her broken heart. When she gets lost in the forest and comes across a bear she tries to protect herself by spraying it, bit the bear moves out of the way and becomes a man. Don is mesmerized by the beautiful angel who comes across his path and when she faints at the sight of him shifting he brings her home to keep her safe. But her being there is a big no no and when she is discovered a council comes to a compromise allowing her to stay...
Where to start...this novel had so many holes a reader could fall to their death. We had friends out camping and one friend never came back but she was never reported missing. We had bearshifters who didn't smell pregnancy on their mate but other bears did....We had a mate who "suddenly" knew she was pregnant but had no tests, never mentioned missing a period and then to top it off after she announces it she goes and gets drunk on sangria with her mate and friend. WHO DOES THAT?? I am now going
I absolutely love shapeshifter romances and have read more than a few over the years. The more popular shifter books typically focus on wolves or big cats but bear shifter stories are increasing in popularity, so I was happy to buy Love to Bear. And, the cover is smexy so I was sold.Unfortunately, I was not at all impressed with the story. My feelings for the hero, heroine, and general story flow was neutral around the 50% mark. My expectations for a redeeming ending plummeted as I read further....
