§ Botticelli studied under Filippo Lippi alongside Filippino Lippi. He also worked in Verrocchio’s workshop with Leonardo da Vinci.
§ He painted frescoes in the Sistine Chapel with Perugino, Domenico Ghirlandaio and Filippino Lippi for Pope Sixtus IV.
§ Botticelli was commissioned by the Medici family to paint many of their portraits and biblical scenes, including The Adoration of the Magi.
