Novel Revision Database

Novel Revision Database

0/5 ( ratings)
Created for authors who are revising their novels, the Novel Revision Database is a software package that organizes characters, scenes, plots, sets, props, and notes into an easy-to-use format to guide the revision process on a scene-by-scene basis.

This book is the user's manual, and can be viewed here in its entirety on Goodreads to preview the software.

The software can be purchased at KnuckleheadComputers.com for only $20.

Short description of the software:
There are many different methods for revising a novel, probably as many methods as there are novelists in the world. Regardless of the method details, it will certainly involve reading and commenting on the draft novel. This will generate many different notes and reminders over the course of the process.

The hardest part of revision may be trying to organize these comments and notes prior to rewriting. Hand-written notes work best for many authors while re-reading, but trying to keep the notes organized can be an ordeal. It’s too easy to lose something important due to a lack of proper organization.

This is where the Novel Revision Database comes in. Its sole reason for living is to organize all of your notes and make them easily accessible when it comes time to make the changes to your novel.

The database is organized around “cards.” Character Cards, Scene Cards, Set Cards, Plot Cards, and Prop Cards. The cards are a handy way to keep pertinent details about these subjects in one place, helping to keep things consistent throughout the book. Also, each one of these items can have notes associated with them. The notes can be anything you want to remember when it comes time to do revisions: notes on characters, scenes, sets, plots, or props.

Anything you want to change or simply remember during the rewrite will go into these notes. The Novel Revision Database will keep track of them all, organize them by scene, and put everything you need at your fingertips when revising.

This book shows how to use the software, and draws examples from my own revision experience. After reviewing and seeing the potential of the Novel Revision Database, you can purchase the software at KnuckleheadComputers.com.
