In the late 1800's, Devon Day and the Sweetwater Kid were the most successful outlaws West of the Mississippi. This is the story of how they met.
What would you do if you lived in the 1800's and nobody understood you at home? "Go West, Young Man!" John Gray is a rebellious teen who likes to push the limits and bend the rules. He's tired of towing the line with his father, and tired of his dull hometown. He decides to head to the big cities out West and make a new life for himself. He's sure he can make it to California without any trouble, especially with his less-than-legal skills and his talent at running cons.
Instead, he meets Kyler Devon. The young orphan has left his family farm and is also headed West, looking for work. Kyler can see right through John's schemes but is impressed with his intelligence. After a rocky beginning, the two fast become friends. They decide to head West together -- the only thing better than seeking your fortune is seeking it with a partner.
John is determined not to end up in a boring, dead-end job. He wants challenges and excitement. He and Kyler must think of some way to become rich without becoming miserable. What can a couple of enterprising youngsters do to earn a living?
