"The Witch's Field" is about a bitter old woman, a hoarder miser type who is scary to those who don't know her. The neighbours all dubbed her home "The Witch's Field" and would steer clear of her. As the woman, Birdy, grows more forgetful with Alzheimer's, strange things happen on her property and in her barn.

Birdy has an unusual relationship with her favourite grandson, Russell. They dote on each other like husband and wife although they are not.

Birdy meets up with three traveling psychics and the four of them go in search of a mystical place they've all shared in a dream.

One of the psychics, Maj, has an insane daughter, Carla, who resides in an asylum. The women go to visit Carla one day and are allowed to take her out for a picnic. Strange things happen when all the women get together.

Birdy realizes that she has a secret to confront from her past. All the women have secrets from their past to confront.

The women find a portal to another world and there, they are strong warriors in a battle to save Harmoni.

Sèphera Giron grew up reading fantasy and horror and loves occult ideas. When this book was originally shopped around to publishers in the eighties, there was confusion over what genre it might be. Sèphera thinks it's fantasy but it does have a bit of horror as well.

Sèphera has been professionally recognized for her writing over the years and has won many awards.
