There are enough unique elements to these stories to make them hot, but I felt there could be more a little more femdom, since that's my thing. An enjoyable read, nonetheless.
The Big Book of Submission: 69 Kinky Tales is an outstanding collection of short stories beautifully gathered and edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. The collection is 69 short stories viewed from every angle of submission and domination, top and bottom. It is kinky sex, but so much more. It’s wanting. It is need and fulfillment. Mainly it’s about love. The book doesn’t come across as too hard-core, but it is a serious look at power-play and intense burning domination and submission. Since these are...
Some of the stories (scenes really) were good, others not so good, a few were quite nice indeed. Each story is more of one scene out of the couple's life. I would have preferred fewer clichés but since the majority of the authors are unknown to me, I can't really fault them for writing the tried and somewhat true of submission. It's a good read for someone with limited time. 2-3 pages and the story is done. Put the book down come back to it again when you have a few more minutes.
Short but hot stories. 69 pieces. Some het, some bi, some poly, and some lesbian as well. Good times. Was lucky enough to win a copy from the author. Thank you Rachel. Very enjoyable read. :)
I'm always delighted by these anthologies and their variety of voices in erotic storytelling. The Big Book of Submission is no different. Highly recommended for lovers of erotica, homage, BDSM and playful sensuality.
What I really love about the stories in this book, is they are all what I like to call easy reading. There are some really short stories contained within this books 366 pages, and then there are some slightly longer ones, but they all have one thing in common; submission. I know shocking right, considering the title. Where this book really comes into it’s own though is that the stories have that one thread running through them, but they are so varied in how that theme is executed by the various
Some of these were great, equally some did not impress. So I've settled on three stars. Therein lies the problem with anthologies of short stories, do you want to pay your hard earned cash to only enjoy half the book? I can offer no answer to this question in relation to this book because I don't remember how much I paid, but I am always reluctant to part with too much money for anthologies and I wouldn't change that rule for this one.
I really enjoyed this collection. It covers submission from a wide variety of perspectives, which is rate. Usually anthologies limit themselves to a single theme (male dom, femdom, straight, gay, etc.) which provides a focused read if you've got a certain kink you really enjoy. This collection, however, covered almost every permutation of the dom/sub relationship I could think of which is wonderful when you're in the mood to stretch your limits a little. The only quibble I have is with the narrat...
Completely fun. I was impressed with so much of the writing in this collection--all of it incredibly sexy. This is a book I'll return to again & again.
69 very different stories about the very different styles that BDSM is. I loved the wide range of stories. They were short but on the point. Sometimes they were a bit teasing and I wished there would have been more. (greedy me)Am sure I will go back to the book and the stories for a re-read.
Four and a half stars. ---It has gotten to the point in my erotica reading career that when I see Rachel Kramer Bussel's name in my email inbox, I quiver in anticipation like a kid on Christmas, eager to unwrap whatever she has next. I was so excited when Rachel and Cleis Press sent me a copy of this book (in exchange for an honest review of course), and I ate it up right away. Why this particular title, you may ask? Well, I identify as a submissive. Ever the bratty little narcissist, I was enam...
This book included some treasured authors of mine which is why I wanted to read it. I really enjoyed seeing them delve deeper into BDSM. Some of these stories are poetic, some beautiful and tender, some hard and hot and some were heartbreaking and sad, but non the less incredible. There are several f/f pairings, some m/f/f trios but mainly m/f duos. There is a lot of reading to be done with these 69 stories. I could not finish in one go. I needed several days to work through it. This was not eve...
I LOVED this collection! There were quite a few stories that I skimmed that had themes I wasn't super interested in (m/m,femdom) but there are so many stories that there will be no shortage of ones that make this collection worth it. Bondage, domination/submission, s&m, fetishes; it's all there. Also, the stories are fairly short so they are fun to read a couple at a time when you have a few minutes here or there (or you're just looking for a quick little "spark" that you don't have do read 200
I cannot wait for this book to come out! I'm so proud to be a part of it.
A giant book of very short teasing stories. C. Margery Kempe's "THE RHINO" was a crisp yank at the longing of biz women to let it all go. "CONTROL TOWER" was about a female air control worker who gets reprimanded because she's not focused on the job and is distracted by a co-worker.
What a truly wonderful collection of erotic short stories! The scenarios vary from mild to somewhat harsh as well as the mix of participants. There is really something here to turn on anyone who has an interest in BDSM. As a submissive bi female, many of the tales made me so very, very wet. I could not stop thinking of my partner's expected return from her business trip later this week so we could talk and . . . :) XOXOXOs to the editor, Rachel Kramer Bussel, for creating such an extraordinary c...
