In a word: haunting.
Like any anthology, there were pieces that I downright loved and pieces that I thought fell quite far under par of the overall project, but in total, the Almanac was a brilliantly constructed insight into post-industrial America, particularly concerning the East Coast (as the publisher, most writers, and focus seems to be on Philadelphia).
