Kidnapped in the Heartland

Kidnapped in the Heartland

Michael Boyd
3.5/5 ( ratings)
The Marcus Moore Chronicles are based on my uncle's career as a private investigator. All these stories are based on real events. Obviously dates, names, and other specifics were chaned in order to protect victims. My uncle was a great man, and one of the best PIs. The stories he told me growing up deserve to be shared with the world.

Marcus Moore had been a Private Investigator for six years and had thought he had seen and heard it all. He had been a cop for ten years before that, which he was sure had prepared him for what he jokingly called private practice, but it hadn’t taken long to find out how wrong he had been. Divorces, insurance fraud, and the occasional missing persons case sounds as if it would be a bland way to spend your time, following cheating spouses and accident victims faking their injuries to bilk the system, but he had discovered that people in and of themselves could be shocking. Just when he felt he had found the absolute lowest point people would seem to go to, there was always someone ready to come along and claim the crown. When the call had come in from Judy Cole, he was sure this would be just one more run of the mill hide and go seek case, over before it really began, so he was sure to tell her he needed the money up front. Marcus soon found out this case would be completely different than anything he had experienced, and potentially could end up being his last if he wasn't careful.
