➳Finally finished this beauty and all I can say is that Claire Contreras, my number one babe, NEVER disappoints... ➳This was such a sweet love story filled with passion and admiration that Claire always seems to portray not only through her writing but also personal life whenever she shares a glimpse of it with us. I am so beyond proud of Claire and am honored to call her a friend and one of my favorite authors for writing in such a state and past that she endured. As a strong individual, sh
4 Musical Stars! Catch Me is an emotional, beautifully written story that will have you laughing, crying and swooning. This book captivated me from the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading. A terrific blend of drama, angst, sexy and sweet with a leading guy that will make you melt! Brooklyn appears to have it all. She owns her own company where she successfully custom makes microphones, she also recruits musicians for her father’s large record company, Harmon Records. She has an eye (or ear...
This book was beautiful, so full of emotion and heartache that I know I will always remember it. 5 Fabulous Stars!
"Once upon a time I would’ve killed to feel numb, like I do now. I would’ve reveled in the abyss of emptiness that fills my heart. The fear of the unknown would’ve made me want to kill myself. Again. But now I feel nothing. I’ve been stripped of everything that matters and I’m left with nothing. So much of nothing that I don’t want to end my life in some dramatic, painful way because I’d rather let myself marinate in the bleakness for a little while longer. When I’m ready I’ll begin to feel a
I really like this book!!!Let's first say how amazing Claire is at writing!! I adore this author and her writing, she is just amazing!!!I love what she is doing with her stories. You really don't know what to expect...I like Brooklyn and Nick...they are such likeable characters! Even with their faults you can't help, but fall in love with them!!! Brooklyn is the main character in this story.. Her father is the head of Harmon Records and her mother is a former model...Her life wasn't very good...Sh...
Maybe I’m okay with being a crazy person. I’d rather be crazy than perfect. There’s no excitement in perfection. Brooklyn is the daughter a music icon -the creator of Harmon Records and a famous fashion model. It feels like this is the only way people see her. She has always been under a lot of pressure and scrutiny. When she meets her best friend, Ryan it feels like he’s the first person she could really connect with who cared about her for her, but when she loses him unexpectedly, it turns
2.5 stars Catch Me is one of these books that hold a great potential, that sadly it is not entirely used. Phenomenal blurb made me believe Claire Contreras’ book could rock my world, but unfortunately it lost me somewhere in the middle. This story didn’t seem to fascinate me enough to hold my interest for a very long time. It certainly wasn’t bad or tedious, it just wasn’t very unique. In the hundreds of books I’m reading per year, a novel really has to leave a mark in my heart to be worth reme
On a very rare occasion you pick up a book and from the very first page you just know that there is no way your putting it down till you finish it. This is how Catch me made me feel.It was a little slow to start with, the romantic in me was screaming just Kiss her already but when you get to the end you understand why Claire puts you through the roller coaster of emotions that this story makes you feel. I don't want to give to much away in my review that's why I'm not running through the plot an...
Brooklyn may have everything a girl could want at her fingertips, but none of that matters when none of it makes you happy. Just twenty-five years old, with a trip to rehab under her belt and the knowledge of what it truly means to lose your best friend. When she is forced to head to New York to find the next big star for her father’s record label, she never expected that she’d find what she was missing. But from the first moment her eyes fell to Nick. Nick is an up and coming producer who is wo...
It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Claire Contreras, so when I saw that she was writing Catch Me, I was thrilled. Her first duet, There is No Light in Darkness & Darkness Before Dawn, is on my favorites of 2013 list, and I was so excited to see what she was going to do with a new, stand alone novel. Well, let me tell you, Catch Me more than lived up to the hype.No matter what Claire writes, her stories always pack a punch, and Catch Me is no different. I was already crying in the prologue, an...
DNF @38%. Had this one on the kindle from ages ago and I regret not reading it back then. I think I may have liked it if I had read it years ago, when my tastes were more open and greener. Now, I guess I’m not a fan of the way both MC’s handle their attraction to each other and I got bored. And the hot cover doesn’t look like how the book describes the H at all. What’s with that?
****4 Soaring Stars****Great choice on my part to start this New Year in the company of a Claire Contreras book, the woman can write, but we all knew that already. Reading this novel felt like standing at the edge of a cliff and jumping off into the unknown; emotional and raw Catch Me was truly breathtaking. Brooklyn Harmon is a girl who apparently has it all; beauty, money, fame and the world at her feet but everyday she's struggles with demons and most times she feels like she just wants to gi...
Another great story from Claire Contreras! Review to come after release date...NOVEMBER 17th*Beta/ARC, courtesy of the author Claire Contreras, in exchange for an honest review.*
New book from the author of There is No Light in Darkness coming this November! Here's the info: In the past, I've always been given everything I've wanted, but nothing that I truly needed. I've experienced a lot of things in my twenty-five years, everything except the one thing I want. It's the one thing that can’t be bought. It can't even be taken, it has to be given. And nobody has ever given it to me, not really anyway. Not until him.Music is the center of both our lives, but as he found hi
3.5 - 4 ★'s "I just wanted you to be real."Nothing like having an author rework an older book to bring it to your attention and since I love Claire Contreras, I was all too willing to check it out! (BTW...this was originally released as Catch Me.)Brooklyn's family is all about music and money and certain expectations are demanded from her especially after having a rough few years. Brooklyn takes everything in stride even when her father tells her she has to go work in the New York offices right
Slow and steady, but ultimately a beautiful story.Brooklyn is the beautiful, rich and successful daughter of a music legend and a model. She is also emotionally damaged and battling huge demons. Told entirely from Brooklyn's POV, there is a lot of time spent in her head, and it’s sometimes heavy reading. She’s very emotional, sometimes suffers from depression, carries a lot of sadness, rejection and guilt, and she spends a lot of time ruminating about it all. But I really liked her. “I read s...
4 stars Brooklyn has a past. She starts work at her dads company and meets record producer Nick. They had great sexual tension for half the book which I loved. The story was well written in that we are given bits of her past and slowly piece together what happened. I asked you who you are. I dont give a fuck about who your parents are Unfortunately the second half wasnt as good for me and I thought a few times some parts just dragged a little.Overall I thought it wasn't as good as h...
This is by far the most dragged out story I have ever read. I’ve been very patient and even if I wanted to ‘dnf’ it, I still decided to finish hoping it'd redeem itself but it hadn't. Everything had been so repetitive. Seriously, it frustrated me as hell of how damn repetitive things were. Everything was just too detailed about mundane things the heroine notices on her surroundings or what she's currently doing. She puts it into step by step descriptions and loves tuning out real conversations w...
Just like i promised; here is the review :) Catch Me by Claire Contreras Kindle Edition, 361 pagesPublished November 17th 2013Claire Contreras never cease to surprise me! after reading (There is No Light in Darkness) and Darkness Before Dawn) i said okay she'll never be able to surpass that! but WRONG. I really like Claire, she's such a talented author, finding all the right ways to deliver such an outstanding, and unique story. It's actually harder than you think rating a book for me, aft
Retitled: The Wilde OneCatch Me, caught me! I really enjoyed this book, as I have the other books from this author. Claire Contreras is so talented and gifted in the art of story telling, I am not sure she is capable of writing a bad book. "...his words make me feel like he tapped my heart with pixie dust."This is a story about a broken, recovering addict who has endured neglect and loss early in her adult life - Brooklyn, and the boy who saved her - Nick. The banter between them is sweet and se...
