Lena Portabella is an attorney from Georgia who tells a story about a winter ski trip in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee when she was 16 where she met and fell in love with a much older and wealthier medical student named Maze Alfred.

Upon learning the secrets going on behind her back, Lena distances herself from Maze with a secret that could destroy her and the ones she loves; but first she has to come clean with a past she hasn’t faced in 15 years.
