The book tells the stories of early EMS on Beaver Island, the difficulties in transportation from the most remote inhabited island in the Great Lakes, and the personal relationships that developed over the 36 years of EMS licensure, but the emphasis is on the early years of providing this care to an archipelago of island in Northern Lake Michigan.
