The Catholic Church is entering a new era. Thecurtain is coming down on the Church defined by the sixteenth centurycounterreformation, and a new Catholicism is taking the stage: EvangelicalCatholicism, which confronts head-on the secular hostility of the postmodernage. Drawing on a century of reforms, eminent religious scholar George Weigelshows that the Church will flourish not by adapting to the reigning culture butrather by reshaping it. In the process, the Church must also reshape itself, byreevaluating religious orders, reinvigorating lay organizations, and demandingmore of its members.
