The famous David Zwirner Gallery in New York has been a base of operations for the Belgian painter Luc Tuymans since 1994. At the start of his career, Tuymans committed himself to showing a new series of works there once every two years--a promise that he kept, and continues to keep, 18 years on, as his tempered style and political content have steadily garnered him worldwide acclaim.
